I agree that the story on BD raspberries having a longer
shelf life than organic is interesting. However, I'd want
to know a lot more about handling and harvest practices.
Unfortunately, I've seen 5 day old California
conventional strawberries in MUCH better shape than 12 hour
old local berries, just on the basis of field cooling and
packaging technology which the local small patch folks
couldn't afford. (Now, fresh picked there's no
comparison as far as taste is concerned!) So, it's possible
that there's other factors involved. Can you find out more
for us?
