The purpose of Spotllight on Cook Week is to reconize the excellence in
teaching, research, and extension at Cook College and to honor students
and faculty who have contributed to it.
Among the highlights of the week are:
Monday, April 24
David Brin, Astrophysicist and award winning science fiction writer will
speak on the topic: " Diversity and the Dogma of Otherness or Can a Race
of Clever Apes Learn to Turn Themselves Into Honest Planetary Managers."
Time: 4:30 at Cook Campus Center
Tuesday, April 25
Guest lecturer Robert Cousins will speak on: "Molecular Biology of Zinc
Metabolism and Function: A Nutritionist's Perspective."
Cousins is Boston Family Professor of Human Nutrition and Director of
the Center for Nutritional Sciences at the University of Florida.
Time: 3:00 PM at Cook Campus Center
Thursday, April 27
Second annual Cook/NJAES Awards Banquet honoring faculty, staff and
students who have made important contributions to the teaching and
research activities of Cook College.
Time: 5-8 PM Neilson Dining Hall on the Cook/Douglass Campus
Saturday, April 29
77th Annual Ag Field Day - This festive day includes tours of the Cook
campus including the barns and university farm, open house at Cook
departments, animal shows, tours of the Rutgers Gardens and Helyar Woods
and many student sponsored displays.
The public is welcome to attend the lectures and Ag Field day. If you
are going to be in the New Brunswick area next week (4/21-4/29), come
and see us at Spotlight on Cook Week.
