GMO labeling

Last Friday in the local paper there was an article about the FDA
Washington DC hearing on GMO's. In the article it stated that some of the
people who testified said that consumers would be confused by labeling and
that they did not know enough about Biotechnology to understand labeling.
One was a professor from the University of Maine. Someone representing the
Dietetics Assoc. said about the same thing. I guess they consider most
consumers as not able to make a judgement regarding these issues. It seems
that people who do market GMO products in the US do not want labels or
people to have the information they need to make an informed decision.

I have not seen anything else on this meeting but that article. Is there
anything else on it?
