You are what you eat. Striving to practice agriculture, at all levels of
activity, in as perfect harmony with Nature as is possible should be the
goal of everyone from the home gardener to industry. Considering the
progress mankind has made over the centuries shouldn't it be possible
that this goal is adopted universally?
One place to start is to preserve and protect all aspects of third world
traditional agriculture.
Other factors that might get in the way include, global warming, an ice
age, extreme flood or drought and a reversal of the Earth's magnetic
polarity (exposing life on Earth to a period of devastating exposure to
solar wind and cosmic rays).

I think this is a key to understanding nature and how we can live in
harmony with it: "striving to do & build things that give rise to life as
