the condemantion of ms. andre's squelching of free speech has been too
mild. michelle thom expressed the central point when she pointed out that
ms. andre, in squelching discourse, took the opportunity to propagate her
own personal contrary views on the issue she was censoring. she did so in
the context of her position and employer. classic totalitarian technique.

additionally, ms. andre needs to defend herself from the suspicion that
ms. wiggert lost her job in part because of her free speech--since the
one event followed the other, and since it is admitted that action was
taken against her for her speech.

finally, ms. andre's actions should be presented to _her_ superior (for
a taste of her own medicine), and perhaps an investigation of the whole
sequence of events could be held, perhaps by the usda's inspetor general's
office?
