So far they appear to be causing no damage.
I have seen no answer to the questions of why and if? I imagine that the
snails are eating something and this may be disadvantageous, or are they
just trying to get into the shade in the Canadian summer?
I wonder whether the best 'how' answer would not be chickens or ducks. That
in itself would help to deal with the 'why' question, assuming [a] that
there is a better market for eggs and poultry than for snails; and [b] that
the integration of poultry into the manuring/fertility/pest management/grass
and weed management cycles of the farm is better than reliance on molluscs,
even molluscs predating molluscs.
