Fly control:

We have an Ostrich ranch in Danieslville, GA . We grind and mix our own =
feed to give us a mix of feed which is healthy (no hormones etc...) and =
safe for the animals. We are striving to produce an "almost" organic =
meat. We use soy bean meal for a source of protein. This material =
seems to attract flys from several other counties. I have heard from =
two sources who were telling me about a plastic bag filled with water =
attached about 4 feet off the ground which repelled flys. One person =
said that he witnessed the phenomena himself and it worked. The theory =
told to me was the reflected sunlight from the water was offensive to =
the fly. I have tried the bags with no success. And yes, I have been =
"snipe hunting" before... Question: Is there any truth to this matter. =
Is there any special type of bag or water used to get the desired =
results or is this just a "fairy tale" ? =20
Diatomaceous Earth seems to work well but would like some other options. =
Thanks for the comments.
