Here's my question:
One thing that is clear from several surveys done is that organic
growers are significantly younger (and newer to farming) and better
educated than their conventional counterparts. My question is, does
that level of education relate to just general education or
ag.-related education. That is to say, are the young people who are
getting educated in ag-related fields moving into organic (or
sustainable) ag? What role do the ag. academic fields play in
influencing the system of farming that is later practiced? Obviously
this is not a scientific survey, I'd just like to hear responses from
you educated farmers out there.
