On behalf of the Thorn Creek Watershed Association, located in Pendleton
County, WV, the Lightstone Foundation invites you to join us for a
hands-on demonstration of how to install a tree revetment to stabilize an
eroding stream bank. Three workshops will be held, on Saturday, September
26, Saturday, October 3, and Saturday October 10, 1998, from 9 am to 12 pm,
at Lightstone's farm on Doe Hill Road (State Road 25), 5 miles south of
Moyers( 10 miles north of McDowell). Light refreshments will be served.
If participants wish to stay after the workshop to learn more about
riparian buffer zones, tree revetments or to tour Lightstone's Farm Center,
please bring a lunch.

The Thorn Creek Watershed Association has received a grant from the West
Virginia Stream Partners Program to enable us to put on these workshops.
Farmers who participate in one of these workshops can receive up to $100
towards the purchase of hardware needed to install stream bank revetments
on their own land.
