There has been a lot of debate back and forth about whether homeopathy "works" or not. The debate has centered around whether there is any scientific validity to it.
We need to step back and ask whether or not science has any validity. What I'm suggesting (before some orthodox scientists blow their lids) is that science is just a paradigm like all other paradigms we use to try to explain how the universe works.
In the past, science tended to say that the universe is made up of matter and energy is released from splitting matter. The spiritualists say that the universe is made up of energy and matter is merely a dense form of energy.
My early training was in science and that's how I approach farming (with a dab of Biodynamics and some spiritual applications). I spoke at a conference with a Biodynamic farmer and on the surface it appeared we were saying something different by describing how we grew and why. Someone asked "Which one of you is right?" We looked at each other, laughed and I answered "We both are!" Since the questioner didn't understand my answer, I explained that we both grew high quality food and both maintained or increased the fertility of our soil.
My point is, it doesn't matter which paradigm one uses, one should look at the results- from a lot of different angles, not just quantity. That's the true test of the system. Trying to fit a spiritual or energetic system into a compartment within a paradigm which doesn't even include the vocabulary to talk about it is futile. I say, pick a paradigm, use it to it's fullest and observe the results. Let's get out there and do something and tolerate others' paradigms rather than trying to prove them wrong.
To me it looks like the universe is made up of matter, or is it energy, or is it both, or maybe neither...
I leave you with the words of Sun Bear: "I don't want to hear any philosophy that doesn't grow corn."
