Can someone explain to me how idealism is not a practical, proven,
or uh profitable part of "making a full-time living from the land"?
Are the two mutually exclusive? Can one do sustainable ag without
idealism?
Steve, I congratulate you on your privilege; many people have had
to sell their time to one or more sources of income to have access to
a landed life. Or maybe that's just in Wisconsin--off-farm work is
pretty much what sustains farms here, at all levels of production
and across commodities. And I'm not sure that this isn't ultimately a
balancing thing--one could argue it keeps people connected to others
and less isolated and isolating in their thinking. Commerce with
others different than oneself, that is.
As for masturbation, intellectual or otherwise, I trust that each of
us pursue pleasure as we find fitting and sustaining.
Yours in the pursuit of language that doesn't demonize thinking or
sexuality in order to assert a viewpoint.
