Another site that refers to this movie as part of a "misinformation"
campaign by fossil energy interests is:

http://www.vcn.bc.ca/wcel/wcelpub/1996/11688.html

And an article, "Energy Companies Try the 'Tobacco Approach' to Evidence of
Global Warming," by David Helvarg, was printed in The Nation magazine,
November, 1996, and may be found at
http://www.globalpolicy.org/socecon/envronmt/helvarg.htm

Further information on the Western Fuels Association may be found on the
Corporate Watch's page that lists corporations resisting meaningful change
at the Kyoto conference on global warming; this site is
http://www.corpwatch.org/feature/planet/gods.html
(The Weather Gods: How Industry Blocks Progress at Kyoto Climate Summit)

And a profile of Frederick D. Palmer, head of Western Fuels Association, was
published in Global Change by the Pacific Institute for Studies in
Development, Environment, and Security in Oakland, California. This may be
found at:

http://www.globalchange.org/profall/95oct36d.htm

Finally, the Greening Earth Society in Arlington, VA, promotes the ideas
reflected in the video and pays to publish the World Climate Report, in
their own words, "the nation's leading publication covering the breaking
news concerning the science and political science of global climate change.
WCR has been proven to be an effective tool in pointing out the weaknesses
and fallacies in the science which is being touted as 'proof' of disasterous
greenhouse warming. It's the perfect antidote against those who argue for
proposed changes to the Rio Climate Treaty which are aimed at limiting
carbon emissions from the United States." This fascinating publication, the
most recent issue of which contains an article called "Stop Worrying About
Oil Prices," may be found at

http://www.nhes.com/back_issues/Vol3/v3n15/home.html

So, for all you conspiracy buffs out there, here's another one to pull out
your worry beads for. It appears as if the reason there is not consensus on
the issue of global warming is that a deliberate campaign is being waged by
big money fossil fuel interests to minimize the threat posed by such drastic
change and to cast doubt on whether this change is occurring or not. This
campaign has serious ramifications on public policy and seems designed to
reduce restrictions on corporate activity.

If anyone can help me figure out how to put these web references in e-mail
text to actually link to the internet, that would be a great help!

Have fun with this,

Jane
