Misha, no matter how much I hang onto every word you write, no matter how
much I admire your wide knowledge, your sparkling wit, your wisdom, I have
to tell you, as an old journalist you made a mistake with The Blockhead.
You only enhanced his persona by answering him, you showed him to be
effective because it appears he got through to you when you mention his
name that many times. Ya gotta grow a thick skin and ignore these clowns.
Because of your stature, when you write about them you just push them
farther up the pole. I've written columns in newspapers that I always
loved the nasty letters. "I don't care what they say about me so long as
they mention my name."

On another topic that you hammer - organics. I believe we have come to the
point where it is more important to be localized than to be certified. I
was surprised a week ago when a solid biodynamic farmer friend agreed with
me. "For the future the most important thing is to know the farmer who
produces your food," is what he said. That kind of relationship will
certainly engender respect, mutual respect of farmer and consumer. If we
must have a merchant between the farmer and the consumer, it should be very
transparent with the farmer still shining through. There is no point in
battling with Globalization and the Blockheads, we just ignore them, we
really don't need them. We operate locally and those who control the
distribution system that keeps the consumer and farmer distantly separated
are left spinning in the wind. Most of the industrialized world's
population is caught up in their Last Great Barbecue and can't be stopped.
Step aside and left them pass.

And now it's time to get off the soapbox and say, no matter what you writre
Misha you do it beatifully.
