Discusses health effects of several pesticides commonly
found in the river and makes policy recommendations for
strengthening environmental and public health

*Methyl Bromide Use Near California Schools, 1998.*
Environmental Working Group (EWG). Analyzes California
pesticide use data from 1995 and documents that tens of
thousands of children are at risk from exposure to
methyl bromide while at school. Lists schools where
methyl bromide was used within 1.5 miles and recommends
banning methyl bromide applications within 1,000 feet of
schools, daycare centers, nursing homes and residences.
