SARE Outreach is hiring

Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) is seeking a full-time IT coordinator to work in the SARE Outreach office located in College Park, Md. SARE Outreach is the national communications arm of SARE, a USDA-funded grants and education program.

Under limited supervision, develops and maintains databases and provides moderately complex support for staff in the use of hardware, software and network services. Responsible for all office hardware and software needs, including laptops and possible future mobile devices. Provides support for such online services as Survey Methods, YouSendit, Google Analytics, etc.

Website development and technical support. Sets priorities for new functionality for the program’s five sites, managing the development process for these new components of the site, and developing training materials for content managers. Responsible for developing web statistics reporting for the five websites and social media tools, and as required, assists with the maintenance and expansion of social media tools.

Provides critical technical expertise and insights as SARE pursues strategic communication goals in website, social media, mobile and other technology-based venues.

Responsible for the efficient operation of the program office and coordinates the work of part-time student workers to accomplish daily operations. Keeps up-to-date with new software and hardware developments to keep operations running at the highest level of efficiency.
