Los adultos son negros con cabezas rojas, ovaladas, que alcanzan una medida de 3.0-6.25 mm con antenas que miden la mitad del tamaño de su cuerpo. Sus patas traseras están alargadas para saltar, y por eso se llaman “flea beetles.” Los adultos con frecuencia se alimentan de partes tiernas de las plantas.
