Beef Cooperative Marketing Materials

The Adirondack Grazers Beef Cooperative is a group of farmers and ranchers who came together to market and sell their pasture-raised beef to consumers in New York City. With the support of a 2012 SARE grant, the upstate New York ranchers incorporated the cooperative, developed marketing platforms, and established relationships with stakeholders.

In just one year, the cooperative built a website, created membership agreements and production protocols, and designed marketing materials (links below). The ranchers also put together short video profiles of some of the co-op’s farmers. As a result of the newly established cooperative and associated marketing effort, the business has grown significantly; payments to farmers for their steers more than doubled, pasture acreage increased by 32 percent, and herd size grew from 652 to 1,014 head of cattle.
