Biennial Report

2001 Annual Report

In the face of publicity about some of the difficult issues in agriculture, from livestock diseases to low commodity prices and declining farm profits, SARE grant results offer some more positive news.

These research findings are highlighted in SARE's 2001 annual report, which features 12 projects from across the country that explore farming systems that improve profits, benefit the environment and are good for communities. The 12 projects provide a snapshot of the more than 1,800 projects the program has funded since 1988.

This edition includes profiles from around the country of water quality protection, integrated pest management, livestock grazing systems, innovative marketing strategies, crop diversification, organic farming, agroforestry and rangeland management.
