Sheep Grazing - Alfalfa Economic Tool
This program that can be downloaded was developed from current research for sheep and alfalfa producers as an economic decision and support tool. Sheep grazing can be both biologically and cost effective methods of managing alfalfa weevil populations. This grazing model utilizes accumulated temperature expressed as "degree days" to implement sheep grazing in the spring. The program was developed as a supporting tool to the grazing model and allows the user to estimate treatment scenarios for alfalfa weevil management by comparing input costs of either insecticides or grazing sheep.
