Hispanic Farmer Video Features SARE-supported Training Program Graduate
Efrain Hernandez was a 2010 graduate of Community CROPS's Growing Farmers Training Program in Lincoln, NE. The SARE-supported Growing Farmers Training Program provides training and technical assistance to limited resource farmers in Southeast Nebraska to grow and sell sustainable agricultural products. The project, coordinated by Ingrid Kirst, Executive Director of Community CROPS, brings together existing farmers, extension staff, and area farm training programs to help beginning farmers successfully grow increasingly larger amounts of food and market it locally.
Efrain Hernandez (and family) were featured in the television documentary "Hispanic Farmers on Broken Ground," produced by Harvest Public Media's Clay Masters and Nebraska Educational Telecommunications. It was part of a special report on the Farmer of the Future.
