A hoophouse at Phillies Bridge Farm in Gardiner, NY houses kale and lettuce seedlings. Phillies Bridge also uses cover crops, seen in the foreground, to naturally increase soil fertility. This is an educational farm where a variety of programs inform people about healthy and sustainable food production. It's also a CSA (community supported agriculture), with about 160 members per season.

Naomi Scanlon and her sister Abby Ladd aren't growing a normal crop, in fact it's quite pungent. The sisters produce garlic, selling it by the pound as well as in jellies and seasonings. They sell out every year through word-of-mouth and their Garlic Day held in the autumn.
