Teresa Webb Teff, a grain and forage crop native to Ethiopia, has been grown in test plots in the Nicodemus area for two years. Funding through a Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) will provide the Kansas Black Farmers Association (KBFA) with the opportunity to prove the crop’s ability to maximize the use of precipitation and soil moisture in a market-based crop rotation while increasing the annual income for dryland farmers in Kansas.
