Enrollment is now open for the Food Project’s Winter Institute, February 2-4, 2012. This is an opportunity to learn from an inspirational group of staff and teens about their work in Boston, MA and look at how it can inspire new approaches in your own organization. The training will teach participants how to best engage teens in:

  • Food justice education
  • Building raised bed gardens with neighborhood residents
  • Keeping teens involved throughout the year in food system work
  • Bridging race, class divides among teens
  • Finding powerful approaches to youth-adult partnerships
  • Teaching youth how to grow their own food

In addition, the Institute is a powerful way to:

  • Answer the dilemma of how to keep teens involved in food systems work in the non-growing season
  • Connect with people doing similar work in other parts of the US
  • Learn from others what is working well in their food systems work
  • Re-energize your creativity by seeing another model
  • Re-envision how you can make the greatest impact on youth, food, land and community
  • Re-charge your batteries by spending time with energized, committed, fun young people!

In the words of a past participant:

“The Food Project Institute was exactly what I needed to get my creative juices flowing around my fledgling ideas for a sustainable food project involving youth.”
