This workshop is geared towards persons interested in starting or already has a
small herd of goats or flock of chickens. Dr.Escobar, small ruminant specialist from
UMES, and Dr. McCrea, poultry specialist from DSU will present topics on:
1. Desirable breeds for meat/ dairy/ show goats.
2. Desirable breeds for laying/meat chickens.
3. Stocking rates for goats/ chickens (goats/chickens per acre).
4. Sources where goats/chicken can be purchased.
5. Housing and feeding requirements for goats/chickens
