PASA’s 2014 Farming for the Future Conference
We invite you to be a part of this wonderful event. The theme this year will be “Letting Nature Lead”. In support of this theme will be our keynote speakers. On Friday morning we’ll hear from Dr. Daphne Miller, a family physician and author of two books. Her most recent book, Farmacology: What Innovative Family Farming Can Teach Us About Health and Healing, examines the interconnectedness of sustainable farming techniques to public health. The Saturday plenary speaker will be Miguel Altieri. He is an Associate Professor and Associate Entomologist at the Center for Biological Control, University of California, Berkeley. He is engaged in collaborative work with a number of universities, NGOs, and research centers around the globe to promote research, training, and capacity building in agroecology and sustainable agriculture. Workshop topics range from animal powered farming techniques to understanding the financial side of a sustainable agricultural business. As always we will also have lots of tasty local snacks in the Farmers Market Cafe, a benefit auction, live music, seed swap and much more!
