West Honorable
Mention
This photo shows a monarch
larva, chrysalis and aphids, with organic alfalfa
in the background. They are feeding on narrowleaf
milkweed that was planted as part of a hedgerow
of native perennials in order to attract beneficial
organisms to Fong Farms. The aphid, larva and chrysalis
represent diversity on farm, as well as non-pest
alternate hosts for parasites and predators feeding
on farm pests.
